Mr. Thomas Bruns is the Regional Senior Commercial Officer for the Gulf including UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.
Previously, Mr. Bruns served as the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy Moscow. He has worked for the U.S. Commerce Department in Turkey, Bulgaria and Washington D.C. receiving multiple awards for his contributions with Commerce and Interagency colleagues in advancing U.S. company interests through trade promotion and policy activities.
Prior to joining the U.S. Commerce Department, Mr. Bruns worked as a Regional Sales Executive in the construction tools industry in France with the Hilti Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked in the international development sector as a Peace Corps Volunteer, Associate Peace Corps Director and independent consultant working for UNESCO and USAID projects. He started his career in sales and marketing working for the Groupe PSA (Citroen) in Paris, France in the automotive sector.
Mr. Bruns is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received a Master’s of Business Administration with distinction from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. He is bilingual in French and English, and has studied Bulgarian, Russian, and Turkish.
