Biographical Information
Mary Jo Wills was confirmed as the new U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles on December 24, 2009. Prior to this appointment, she served as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs from January 2009 to December 2009. She previously served as Country Director for Southern Africa Affairs in the Bureau of African Affairs from August 2007 until January 2009. Her previous positions include serving as Office Director for the Economic Policy Staff in the Bureau of African Affairs, Economic Advisor in the Bureau of Economic, Energy and Business Affairs and Deputy Principal Officer at the Consulate General in Milan, Italy.
Ambassador Wills received a Bachelor of Arts from Chatham College, a Masters from the National Defense University and a Masters in Business Administration from Virginia Tech. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Virginia Tech.
