| | Event Description: | As the countries of Central Europe and Turkey prepare to modernize their emergency management and response systems to increase their capabilities for handling both natural and man-made disasters, millions of dollars of investment is needed in order to replace and upgrade monitoring, warning, and command and control systems. Many of these countries have already begun to procure new integrated emergency management and response systems (IEMS), while others are preparing to install such systems. This conference will present a minimum of 15 IEMS-related or meteorological/hydrological monitoring projects with upcoming procurement opportunities.
U.S. Government representation will include: The Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Weather Service, the National Weather Service, the U.S. Forestry Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, and the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.
