Justin Siberell is the Ambassador-Designate of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain. He was most recently the Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism in the Bureau of Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of State. He joined the Bureau of Counterterrorism in 2012.
Before joining the CT Bureau, Ambassador-Designate Siberell was Principal Officer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Other overseas assignments include service at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in Baghdad, Amman, Alexandria, and Panama City. In Washington, Mr. Siberell completed tours in the State Department Operations Center and Executive Secretariat; as Desk Officer for Iran in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs; and as Executive Assistant to the National Security Advisor at the White House. Ambassador-Designate Siberell joined the Foreign Service in March 1993. He is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with rank of Minister Counselor.
Ambassador-Designate Siberell received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a graduate of the State Department’s Arabic Language Field School in Tunis, Tunisia.
