Brenda VanHorn has served as the Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate General Casablanca since September 2015. Since arriving at post, Ms. VanHorn has led the commercial team in organizing the Moroccan-U.S. Business Development Conference in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the free trade agreement between Morocco and the U.S.
Prior to arriving in Casablanca, Ms. VanHorn served as the Deputy Commercial Service Officer in Warsaw Poland, where she was responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the U.S. Commercial Service. While in Warsaw, she organized and served as control officer for the fact-finding mission of the President’s Export Council (PEC) led by Secretary Penny Pritzker. In 2009, Brenda joined the Department of Commerce and was first assigned to a domestic tour in the Export Assistance Center in Buffalo New York. Prior to joining the U.S. Commercial Service, Ms. VanHorn enjoyed a career in the private sector where she worked in international trade for consumer goods and manufacturing companies.
Ms. VanHorn graduated with Bachelor of Science in Management from Houghton College, Houghton NY.
